Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Location: Louisville, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Schedule: Every other weekend

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role

The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its telemetry unit. You will provide continuous cardiac monitoring and nursing care to patients with acute cardiac and other conditions requiring close observation. This is a fast-paced environment where your clinical judgment, EKG interpretation skills, and ability to respond quickly to patient changes are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret cardiac rhythms and identify arrhythmias; escalate care as needed
• Administer medications, including cardiac drips and antiarrhythmics, per physician orders
• Assess, monitor, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Manage rapid response and code interventions as they arise
• Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMR
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience; 1+ year of telemetry experience required
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry/EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm management
• Experience monitoring cardiac rhythms and managing cardiac medications

Education

• Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
