Emergency Department Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a full-time RN for the Emergency Department on a 13-week contract. You'll work nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, with a weekend requirement of 6 days per 6-week rotation.
Clinical Scope
You'll provide independent nursing care across the full spectrum of emergency presentations. Your responsibilities include:
- Patient assessment, diagnosis planning, intervention, and evaluation using the nursing process
- Routine and complex emergency care with ability to manage clinical contingencies
- Medication administration and treatment delivery per protocol; monitoring for effectiveness and side effects
- Comprehensive patient and family education addressing psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs
- Accurate documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and interventions
- Appropriate delegation and assignment of care tasks
Requirements
- RN License in Texas (or compact state)
- BLS certification (AHA) – required
- ACLS certification (AHA) – required
- PALS certification (AHA) – required
- TNCC certification – required
- 1 year of emergency nursing experience (preferred)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)
Onboarding
All new hires complete an orientation program within the first 30 days, including preceptorship with a designated staff member and competency validation specific to emergency nursing.
