Emergency Department Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a full-time RN for the Emergency Department on a 13-week contract. You'll work nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, with a weekend requirement of 6 days per 6-week rotation.

Clinical Scope

You'll provide independent nursing care across the full spectrum of emergency presentations. Your responsibilities include:

  • Patient assessment, diagnosis planning, intervention, and evaluation using the nursing process
  • Routine and complex emergency care with ability to manage clinical contingencies
  • Medication administration and treatment delivery per protocol; monitoring for effectiveness and side effects
  • Comprehensive patient and family education addressing psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs
  • Accurate documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and interventions
  • Appropriate delegation and assignment of care tasks

Requirements

  • RN License in Texas (or compact state)
  • BLS certification (AHA) – required
  • ACLS certification (AHA) – required
  • PALS certification (AHA) – required
  • TNCC certification – required
  • 1 year of emergency nursing experience (preferred)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)

Onboarding

All new hires complete an orientation program within the first 30 days, including preceptorship with a designated staff member and competency validation specific to emergency nursing.
