Emergency Department RN – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department, working nights on a 13-week contract. You'll practice independently in a fast-paced clinical environment, managing routine and complex patient care while developing your ability to handle clinical contingencies effectively.
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts, 3 days per week)
- Weekend requirement: Yes, rotating 6 days per 6-week schedule period
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
- Start date: August 17, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications and treatments; monitor for side effects and effectiveness
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Assess patient and family learning needs; provide appropriate education
- Delegate tasks appropriately to other care providers to manage the clinical situation
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in Texas or compact state
- BLS certification (AHA)
- ACLS certification (AHA)
- PALS certification (AHA)
- TNCC certification
- 1 year experience in emergency nursing preferred
- Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing preferred
Onboarding
New hires complete orientation within 30 days, including preceptored training and competency validation specific to the Emergency Department.
