Medical-Surgical/Oncology Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Med Surg/Oncology nurse for a 13-week contract assignment. You'll work nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) on a high-acuity unit, managing complex patients and collaborating with an interdisciplinary care team. This role includes the possibility of floating within the same discipline across local campuses.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM)
- Every third weekend
- Contract start: October 2026
- Multiple orientation dates available throughout fall/winter
Clinical Requirements
You'll administer critical drips including heparin, PCA, and epidural. Chemotherapy administration is welcome if you're certified. Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg and/or Oncology experience is required. High-acuity care and travel nursing experience are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Current Iowa RN license
- BLS, ACLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications (NIHSS may be obtained during onboarding)
- Current skills checklist (completed within 1 year)
- Driver's license
- 1 supervisory reference at time of submission
