Labor & Delivery RN – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for night shifts in a busy perinatal unit. This is a 13-week contract role, ideal for first-time travelers and experienced travel nurses alike.
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Weekend commitment: 4 weekend shifts per month (Friday or Saturday nights)
- On-call: Mandatory on-call twice monthly, in addition to scheduled shifts
- Float requirement: May float to other perinatal areas as needed
- Time off: Maximum 3 days RTO per 13-week contract; none permitted during first two weeks; one holiday RTO may be requested but is not guaranteed
The Unit
The team includes 24 OB hospitalists and dedicated OB anesthesia support. You'll care for low and high-risk obstetric patients, including neonates, adolescents, and adults.
Required Skills & Certifications
- Minimum 3 years nursing experience
- Proficiency with external fetal monitoring and recognition/treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
- Ability to circulate for C-sections
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced certifications
- Essential: Experience with charting systems in current use
Requirements
- Active California RN license
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- Smoke/nicotine-free facility
- Advanced EKG exam (80% passing score required; two attempts permitted)
