Emergency Department RN — Night Shift | Long Beach, CA

13-Week Contract | 4x12 Nights (19:00–07:30)

This high-volume Emergency Department in Long Beach, CA serves a diverse patient population spanning neonates through geriatrics, managing a broad range of acute and critical presentations. The unit sees approximately 310 visits per day and handles complex cases including stroke, STEMI, neuro-trauma, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, ortho trauma, and pediatric emergencies.

Shift & Schedule

  • 4x12-hour nights, 19:00–07:30
  • Weekends required per department needs
  • No on-call required
  • No floating outside the department
  • Start date: ASAP

Required Experience

  • Minimum 2.5 years in a high-acuity emergency department with Level II trauma experience — this is a hard stop requirement
  • First-time travelers considered if experience requirement is met

Required Certifications

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
  • TNCC strongly preferred; CPI preferred

Key Clinical Skills

  • Arterial line management and interpretation of ABGs
  • Central line care, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation
  • BiPAP/CPAP and ventilator management
  • Blood product administration
  • Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • experience

Submission Requirements

  • California RN license in hand at time of submission
  • Nursys report (pulled within 2 weeks) required
  • One professional reference within the last 2 years
  • All requested time off must be submitted at time of submission — no RTO added post-submission
  • Holiday RTO cannot be guaranteed
  • Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
  • COVID-19 vaccine not required
