Emergency Department RN — Night Shift | Long Beach, CA

This high-volume, combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week night shift contract. The department manages a broad acuity spectrum across all age groups — neonates through geriatrics — with a fast-paced census and strong interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services.

Shift & Schedule

• 4x12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Weekend shifts required per department needs
• No on-call required

Required Experience

• Minimum 2.5 years of recent experience in a high-acuity emergency department with trauma center experience
• First-time travelers considered with qualifying experience

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC

Clinical Skills & Scope

• , procedural sedation, arterial line and central line management
• Care of ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors
• ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Blood product administration, phlebotomy, IV placement
• Management of stroke, neuro-trauma, ortho trauma, and pediatric emergencies

Additional Details

• Float within the hospital based on census
• 24-hour orientation; non-billable module hours completed during orientation
• California RN license required prior to submission
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Pre-approved time off must be submitted at time of application; holiday RTO cannot be guaranteed
