Telemetry RN — North Charleston, SC | Nights | 13-Week Contract

This night-shift telemetry position is ideal for an experienced travel nurse comfortable managing high-acuity cardiac patients in a fast-paced inpatient setting.

Shift & Schedule

  • 19:00–07:00 | Three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Every other weekend required; holidays rotate with staff
  • Guaranteed 48 hours

Unit Overview

The telemetry unit cares for patients recovering from post-cardiac procedures including PCI, PPM, ICD placement, and ablations. Nurses manage cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Dobutamine) and are proficient in continuous telemetry strip interpretation.

Float Expectations

Travelers float first and may be assigned to the emergency department for inpatient holds, the telemetry monitoring room, or the PCU.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Bedside shift report using AIDET-based communication
  • Plan of care development and documentation each shift
  • Physician and ancillary team collaboration
  • Discharge planning and patient education
  • Phlebotomy
  • Respiratory treatments (inhalers and nebulizers) outside the ICU
  • Foley catheter care and management using nurse-driven removal protocols

Requirements

  • Minimum 30 months of RN experience
  • At least one prior completed travel nursing assignment
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification required
  • Ability to manage a six-patient telemetry assignment
  • Strong time management and cardiac care competency
