Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility seeks experienced cardiac nurses for a high-acuity, cardiac-focused progressive care unit. You'll care for patients across the full spectrum of cardiac conditions, from heart failure and arrhythmias to post-procedural and transplant patients.
Shift & Schedule
- 3 × 12-hour shifts (36 hrs/week)
- 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Navy blue scrubs
- 13-week contract; start dates available every Monday
Requirements
- Current Georgia or compact nursing license
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 18 months cardiac unit experience within the past 3 years
- Must independently interpret cardiac rhythms and pass a proctored Dysrhythmia Exam on the first attempt (paper-based, calipers required; no tech assistance permitted)
- Proficiency with cardiac drips: insulin, milrinone, dobutamine, amiodarone, heparin, lasix, nitroglycerin
- Chest tube experience; telemetry interpretation skills
- Heart transplant and LVAD experience preferred (training available)
- Within 50-mile radius (no relocation required)
Clinical Scope
Floating
May float to similar cardiac/PCU units as clinically appropriate. Will not float to monitor tech roles.
