Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Position Overview

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN to join a fast-paced, high-acuity team. You'll provide rapid assessment, stabilization, and care to patients across a broad spectrum of emergent and urgent conditions—from trauma activations to medical emergencies.

Schedule & Duration

• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Contract: 14 weeks
• Start Date: October 19, 2026

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rapid and comprehensive assessments to determine patient acuity and prioritize care flow
• Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions per physician orders and protocols
• Respond to trauma activations, codes, and acute patient deterioration with appropriate clinical action
• Manage patients throughout their ED stay—admission, monitoring, transfer, and discharge
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams on care planning
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions, follow-up care, and treatment
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
• Maintain infection control, patient safety, and de-escalation protocols
• Support efficient patient flow in a high-volume environment

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license (state or compact)
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 1+ year of ER nursing experience
• Strong protocol knowledge and comfort in high-acuity, fast-paced settings

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree
• CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
