Position Details
- Location: Birmingham, AL
- Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Monday–Friday (40 hours/week)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 5, 2026
- No weekends or call required
Requirements
- ARRT certification in CT (ARRT-CT) — required
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R) — required
- State radiologic technology license (as applicable)
- BLS certification — required
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient hospital CT experience — required
- Travel experience — required
- IV certification/venipuncture skills preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Perform CT imaging exams per physician orders with accurate positioning and optimal image quality
- Prepare and administer contrast media; monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Screen patient history for contraindications (allergies, renal function, pregnancy status)
- Operate and maintain CT equipment; troubleshoot technical issues
- Ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles
- Document exams accurately in imaging information systems
- Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians to achieve diagnostic-quality images
