Position Details

  • Location: Birmingham, AL
  • Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Monday–Friday (40 hours/week)
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks
  • Start Date: October 5, 2026
  • No weekends or call required

Requirements

  • ARRT certification in CT (ARRT-CT) — required
  • ARRT certification in Radiography (R) — required
  • State radiologic technology license (as applicable)
  • BLS certification — required
  • Minimum 2 years of inpatient hospital CT experience — required
  • Travel experience — required
  • IV certification/venipuncture skills preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform CT imaging exams per physician orders with accurate positioning and optimal image quality
  • Prepare and administer contrast media; monitor patients for adverse reactions
  • Screen patient history for contraindications (allergies, renal function, pregnancy status)
  • Operate and maintain CT equipment; troubleshoot technical issues
  • Ensure adherence to radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles
  • Document exams accurately in imaging information systems
  • Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians to achieve diagnostic-quality images

You'll work in a fast-paced imaging department performing a high volume of diagnostic CT scans. This is a day-shift position ideal for technologists seeking schedule stability with no nights, weekends, or on-call responsibilities.
