ICU RN — Night Shift | Newark, NY | 13-Week Contract
This ICU position offers an opportunity to work in an adult intensive care unit managing complex, high-acuity patients in the Newark, NY area.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 4x12-hour shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required
Clinical Scope
The unit cares for adult ICU patients and requires proficiency in a broad range of critical care skills, including:
- Arterial line and central line management
- Continuous IV sedation and neuromuscular blockade
- Vasoactive and cardiac drip titration
- IV insulin protocols and thermoregulation
- Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Blood product administration and procedural sedation
- 12-lead EKG acquisition and PICC line management
- Infection prevention, isolation precautions, and phlebotomy
Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, social services, and interpretation services.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
- Active New York RN license in hand at time of submission
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (all required)
- Electronic health record proficiency required
- Charge experience highly preferred
- Travel experience required
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
Additional Details
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
- Orientation: 12 hours
- Pre-approved time off: up to two instances (no more than 10 days total)
- COVID-19 vaccine: not required
