NICU RN – Day Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a NICU RN for a 13-week contract in its Level III neonatal intensive care unit. You'll care for high-acuity neonates, including premature infants, feeders and growers, and patients with respiratory distress syndrome, sepsis, jaundice, and neonatal abstinence syndrome. The unit admits approximately 190 babies per month and serves a diverse patient population.
Schedule & Staffing
- Shift: Day 3x12-hour (06:00–18:30)
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend (FRI–SUN block), may exceed to meet unit needs
- Float Requirement: May float to mother/baby for couplet cases (full float if you have couplet experience)
- Call: None required
- Guaranteed Hours: One shift call-off permitted per 2-week period
- Start Date: ASAP
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience; at least 1 year NICU specialty preferred
- Valid compact state license at submission
- Certifications: BLS, NRP (Advanced preferred; willing to obtain before start accepted), PALS
- Strong clinical foundation in neonatal care; first-time NICU travelers considered if otherwise qualified

Work Environment
Interdisciplinary support includes Respiratory Services, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Social Services. Navy blue scrubs required. Free parking available.
Requirements at Submission
All time-off requests and scheduling needs must be submitted upfront. You must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, NYE, NYD). Provide two professional references from the past 3 years covering at least 6 months of NICU experience.
