Operating Room RN

The facility's operating room is seeking an experienced RN to join the surgical team on a 13-week contract. You'll work days (6:00 AM–4:30 PM) with on-call expectations of 3 weeknights and 1 weekend day per month, plus 1 major and 1 minor holiday.

What You'll Do

You'll provide circulating and/or scrub nursing support across a range of surgical specialties including orthopedic, neurosurgery, urology, vascular, general surgery, gynecology, ENT, and plastics. Your responsibilities include:

• Preparing and maintaining the sterile field, instruments, and equipment
• Performing pre-operative assessments and verifying surgical site, consent, and procedure per protocol
• Conducting accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts before, during, and after procedures
• Monitoring patient safety and status throughout surgical cases
• Managing supplies and equipment to ensure availability and proper function
• Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and the surgical team
• Assisting with patient positioning, prepping, and post-operative handoff
• Documenting intraoperative care accurately in the medical record

Requirements

• Active RN license in state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience
• Ability to function in both circulating and scrub roles across multiple specialties
• Proficiency with robotic-assisted surgical systems is a plus
