PCU / Stepdown

IMCU Travel Nurse | Nights | Utica, NY

This intermediate care unit manages a diverse adult population (18+) with moderate-to-high acuity. Common diagnoses include neurological conditions, cardiac events (MI, CV stepdown), trauma, respiratory illness (COPD), DKA, sepsis, and post-operative patients.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM | 12-hour shifts, 3 days/week
• Guaranteed 36 hours/week
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Clinical Scope

Nurses must be comfortable managing patients on temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines, and BiPAP. The unit supports chronic vent patients who are unable to wean; respiratory therapy assists with ventilator management. A dedicated neuro bed section is part of the unit.

Float Requirement

Floating to other units is required.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Active RN license in New York State
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• NURSYS license verification required

Submission Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of IMCU/PCU experience with documented travel history
• Specialty-matched skills checklist
• Driver's license with address matching submitted demographics
• RTO must be submitted at time of application
