Cardiac Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Richmond, VA

This 13-week travel contract places you on a busy Cardiac Telemetry unit working nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Start date is September 9, 2026.

The Unit

The telemetry unit manages cardiac patients requiring continuous monitoring in a fast-paced environment with frequent admissions, discharges, and transfers. Most advanced cardiac procedures are performed off-unit; bedside responsibilities center on EKG performance, rhythm interpretation, and timely response to patient condition changes.

What You'll Do

  • Perform and interpret EKGs
  • Monitor telemetry and communicate condition changes promptly to physicians
  • Prioritize and adapt care plans in response to rapidly changing patient needs
  • Collaborate with a structured team including a Charge RN and support staff each shift

Requirements

  • Telemetry experience with demonstrated EKG reading skills — required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications — required
  • Strong clinical judgment, problem-solving ability, and a team-first attitude

Schedule & Expectations

  • Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Every 3rd Friday and Saturday, plus one additional Friday or Saturday per schedule
  • Holiday availability needed: Halloween, Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas night

  • Dress code: Navy scrubs
  • Float: Med/Surg — low probability
  • Guaranteed hours: 36/week
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
