Cardiac Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Richmond, VA
This 13-week travel contract places you on a busy Cardiac Telemetry unit working nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with guaranteed 36 hours per week. Start date is September 9, 2026.
The Unit
The telemetry unit manages cardiac patients requiring continuous monitoring in a fast-paced environment with frequent admissions, discharges, and transfers. Most advanced cardiac procedures are performed off-unit; bedside responsibilities center on EKG performance, rhythm interpretation, and timely response to patient condition changes.
What You'll Do
- Perform and interpret EKGs
- Monitor telemetry and communicate condition changes promptly to physicians
- Prioritize and adapt care plans in response to rapidly changing patient needs
- Collaborate with a structured team including a Charge RN and support staff each shift
Requirements
- Telemetry experience with demonstrated EKG reading skills — required
- BLS and ACLS certifications — required
- Strong clinical judgment, problem-solving ability, and a team-first attitude
Schedule & Expectations
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every 3rd Friday and Saturday, plus one additional Friday or Saturday per schedule
- Holiday availability needed: Halloween, Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas night

- Dress code: Navy scrubs
- Float: Med/Surg — low probability
- Guaranteed hours: 36/week
