ICU Travel Nurse — North Charleston, SC
13-Week Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts
This mixed ICU position offers a rare opportunity to practice across cardiovascular and neuroscience critical care in a single, high-acuity unit. The facility is actively supportive of travelers looking to expand their CVICU or Neuro ICU skill set.
Shift & Schedule
- 07:00–19:00 | Three 12-hour shifts per week
- Every other weekend and holidays in rotation with staff
- 48 guaranteed hours per contract period
Clinical Scope
The unit manages a complex patient population including post-op day 0 CABG, Impella and intra-aortic balloon pump management, Swan-Ganz catheterization, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring. Neuro cases include aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, EVD management, ICP bolt monitoring, and therapeutic hypothermia protocols. Nurses also administer respiratory treatments (inhalers and nebulizers) and conduct bedside shift report on every patient.
Float requirements include potential assignment to the ED or PCU to manage ICU or PCU holds.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 36 months RN experience, with at least 1 year in an ICU
- Prior CVICU experience
- Comfortable managing 1–3 ICU patients, including ventilator-dependent patients
- Proficient in telemetry interpretation
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN
- Prior travel assignment experience
- TNCC, CCRN, or other advanced certifications
- Skills: CRRT, advanced hemodynamics, phlebotomy
