Progressive Care Nurse – Neuro Trauma Unit | Portsmouth, NH
Shift: Nights, 18:45–07:15
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Start Date: September 10, 2026
This night-shift position is on a Progressive Care Neuro Trauma unit managing intermediate-acuity patients with neurological and trauma diagnoses. Nurses on this unit care for patients requiring close monitoring and specialized interventions in a step-down level environment.
Clinical Scope & Procedures
- Bedside monitoring, end-tidal O2 monitoring, high-flow oxygen, chronic ventilator management, and subdural drain care
- Chest tubes and EEGs
- Neuro and trauma patient populations
Required Skills
- Telemetry/step-down experience is required — candidates without this background will not be considered
Preferred Skills
- Neuro experience
- Trauma experience
Required Certifications
- ACLS and BLS
Preferred Certifications
- NIHSS
- TNCC
Additional Details
- Float requirement: all inpatient units, including ICU and ED
- Weekends: every other weekend required; no on-call obligation
- Dress code: professional scrubs, no specific color required
- Ideal candidate is team-oriented and comfortable in a fast-paced neuro/trauma environment
