Respiratory Therapist – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join the pulmonary care team on night shift. You'll deliver comprehensive respiratory support to critical, non-critical, and chronically ill patients across adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations, working independently with physician oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and develop individualized respiratory care plans
- Execute emergency response protocols (Code Blue/White)
- Manage airways: nasotracheal and endotracheal suctioning, airway device placement and maintenance
- Operate ventilators and deliver aerosolized medications
- Manage airway support devices (BiPAP, CPAP)
- Conduct oxygen delivery, blood gas collection and analysis, chest film analysis, and EKG interpretation
- Provide therapeutic gas management (INO, HeO2 monitoring)
- Assist with pulmonary function testing, bronchoscopy, and polysomnography
- Maintain equipment and documentation standards
- Float across PICU, NICU, and Pediatric ER as needed
- Potential to serve as Shift Leader or Team Leader
Requirements
- RT or RCP License in Texas (required)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by NBRC (required)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications (AHA only, required)
- 1–3 years of experience preferred
Schedule
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Full-time, 13-week contract
- Start Date: October 5, 2026
