Med Surg

Travel RN – Renal Med-Surg | Nights | Zanesville, OH

This 13-week travel contract places you on a high-acuity Renal/Medical-Surgical unit caring for adult patients with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and complex post-dialysis needs. The unit runs a fast-paced, high-turnover environment requiring strong independent clinical judgment and continuous patient monitoring.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 36 hours/week (three 12-hour shifts)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirement

Clinical Scope

• Comprehensive nursing care for renal and complex med-surg patients
• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Collaboration with nephrology and interdisciplinary teams
• Float potential within scope to similar units, including Wound Care, Stroke, Oncology, Cardiac, Observation, and ED boarders

Required Qualifications

• Active Ohio RN license (required at time of submission)
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum 3 years of recent Med-Surg and Telemetry experience; renal experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips
• EMR proficiency is mandatory — candidates must be fully independent; no training is provided, and lack of proficiency may result in contract termination
• Competency assessment required on Day 1

Additional Details

• Available start dates: September 21 or October 19
• The facility reserves the right to cancel up to 36 hours over the 13-week contract
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application
