Labor & Delivery / Antepartum RN — Night Shift
Mayfield Heights, OH | 13-Week Contract
We're looking for an experienced Labor & Delivery RN to join a high-risk antepartum unit on night shift. This is a clinically demanding role focused on the care of pregnant patients requiring specialized monitoring and intervention prior to delivery.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
Clinical Scope
The unit cares for high-risk antepartum patients presenting with conditions including:
- Hypertension and preeclampsia
- Preterm labor and risk of early delivery
- Vaginal bleeding and placental complications
- Multiple-gestation pregnancies
Nurses are expected to provide close monitoring, timely assessment, and skilled intervention for maternal-fetal dyads across varying acuity levels.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 12 months of permanent Labor & Delivery experience
- Active Ohio RN license (permanent) or active Compact State RN license — must be in hand at time of submission
- Active certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Basic Fetal Monitoring
- One supervisor or manager reference from the specialty within the past 12 months
Additional Requirements
- Background must be clear with no open cases
- No license hits accepted
- COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments completed during orientation; two attempts permitted to pass
- BCI/FBI fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
- Extensions available up to 18 months, after which a 6-month break is required
