Physical Therapist – Inpatient Rehabilitation | Salinas, CA

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 8-hour days, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week

About the Role

This position is based in an inpatient rehabilitation unit at an acute care facility in Salinas, CA. The unit serves patients requiring intensive rehabilitative therapy following surgery, illness, or injury. Therapists work closely with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, progressing patients toward functional independence.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy treatments in an acute inpatient rehab setting
• Assess, evaluate, and progress patients across a range of diagnoses and acuity levels
• Collaborate with nursing, occupational therapy, and the broader care team
• Document patient care and progress accurately

Schedule & Coverage

• Monday–Friday, day shift; some weekend coverage required
• Orientation takes place on Mondays; new therapists are paired with a buddy for initial training days before treating independently

Dress Code

• Inpatient: Any color of professional scrubs; closed-toe shoes required; no facility names or logos on scrubs
• No jeans or hooded clothing permitted

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care setting
• Active California Physical Therapist license
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
