NICU Nurse – Dallas, TX

Position Overview

The facility seeks experienced NICU nurses for a 13-week contract assignment. You'll work day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), caring for critically ill and post-surgical neonates in a high-acuity setting.

Unit Overview

This NICU manages complex patients including premature infants (28 weeks and older), post-surgical cases, and infants requiring advanced respiratory support. The unit performs central line insertions, PDA ligations, gastroschisis reductions, and other surgical procedures. You'll care for tracheostomy-dependent infants, manage Broviacs and central lines, and provide respiratory management up to and including mechanical ventilation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year Level III NICU experience
  • Current BLS and NRP certifications
  • Proficiency with preemies, central line management, and advanced respiratory care
  • Experience with surgical and cardiac patients preferred

Scheduling & Expectations

  • 3–12 hour shifts per week
  • Rotating weekends and holidays
  • Contract staff float to PICU, Pediatrics, and CICU as needed
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week

Work Environment

The unit is staffed with RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and Nurse Externs. You'll wear royal blue scrubs. The team uses standard NICU equipment and documentation systems to support patient care.
