Labor & Delivery RN — Night Shift | Fullerton, CA | 13-Week Contract

This acute care facility is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week night shift assignment. The unit manages a broad range of obstetric patients including active labor, inductions, preeclampsia, TOLAC/VBAC, multiples, preterm labor, and high-risk antepartum cases.

Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)

Start Date: ASAP

Required Certifications:

• ACLS, BLS, NRP
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring *(hard stop — must have prior to submission)*

Clinical Requirements:

• Minimum 1.5 years of L&D experience (2 years preferred)
• Must be able to perform sterile vaginal exams independently, without supervision *(hard stop)*
• OB experience required *(hard stop)*
• Compact RN license must be in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted

Key Skills & Responsibilities:

• Sterile vaginal exams, , and external/internal fetal monitoring
• Circulating and scrubbing for cesarean sections; C-section recovery
• Magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, antihypertensive, and antiseizure drip management
• Postpartum hemorrhage recognition and management
• Newborn assessment, APGAR scoring, and hypoglycemia management
• IUPC placement, spiral electrode placement, amnioinfusion
• Lactation support and baby-friendly protocols

Scheduling Expectations:

• Weekend coverage required; may exceed every-other-weekend to meet unit needs
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO must be submitted at time of application; post-offer RTO requests may not be granted
• Float to Mother-Baby may be required
