Pediatric Intensive Care Unit – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility seeks a Registered Nurse for its Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) on the night shift. You'll provide direct care to critically ill pediatric patients ranging from infants through age 25, including those with complex needs such as epilepsy monitoring and specialized post-operative care.

Shift & Schedule

• Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Start Date: October 5, 2026
• Must work at least every other holiday

Required Qualifications

• 18 months of combined permanent pediatric nursing experience (recent experience preferred)
• Permanent Ohio license or compact state license in hand at time of submission
• Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NIHSS preferred
• Proficiency in EKG rhythm recognition and inotropic medications
• One professional reference (manager, charge nurse, supervisor, or director) from an assignment within the past 12 months

Clinical Scope

You'll manage high-acuity pediatric patients requiring intensive monitoring and specialized interventions, including epilepsy care, post-surgical management, and hemodynamic support.

Orientation & Compliance

• ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments required during orientation
• Pre-start modules required (6–15 hours average)
• Annual competency requirements apply for continuous contracts
• Background check and drug screening (within 12 months of start)

Note: Permanent and per diem employees cannot return to this facility for one year following their previous end date.
