MRI Technologist – 36-Hour Weekly Position
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a full-time MRI Technologist for a 13-week contract. You'll work Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturday, 6:30 am to 7:00 pm, with potential for variable shifts based on census needs. Holiday coverage is provided through call rotation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MRI procedures, including protocol development and screening patients for contraindications
- Explain magnetic resonance imaging procedures to patients, addressing concerns with professionalism and compassion
- Ensure patient and staff safety by enforcing ACR and facility safety protocols, including removal of hazardous metal objects and monitoring for contraband near the magnet
- Provide continuous visual and verbal monitoring of patients throughout procedures
- Operate imaging equipment and maintain a clean, organized environment
- Monitor equipment status, manage inventory, and report maintenance needs
- Deliver age-appropriate care to geriatric, pediatric, and general patient populations
- Maintain patient confidentiality and communicate the facility's mission and values
Requirements
- Associate's Degree or Certificate from an accredited two-year college or certificate program
- ARRT registration
- BCLS certification required within 4 months of hire and maintained thereafter
- Influenza vaccination required (per Maine state requirements) unless a medical exemption is approved by Employee Health
