Med Surg / Emergency Room RN — Night Shift | Critical Access Hospital | Cheyenne Wells, CO
This is a 13-week night shift contract for an experienced RN comfortable working in both a Med Surg and Emergency Room setting at a critical access hospital in rural Colorado.

- 12-hour nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Guaranteed hours
Role Overview
This position requires floating between the Med Surg unit and the Emergency Room. The facility serves a rural community located more than two hours from the nearest large hospital, resulting in a broad and unpredictable patient census. Clinical presentations include trauma related to a high-traffic nearby highway, elderly patients with complex medical needs, and a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries. Nurses in this role must be comfortable managing high-acuity situations with limited local resources.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of ER experience (2 years preferred)
- Willingness and ability to float between Med Surg and ER — this is a core requirement
- Active certifications: ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and PALS
- Valid RN licensure
