Med-Surg Orthopedic Travel Nurse | 13-Week Contract | Nights

Redding, CA | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 12-Hour Shifts

This Med-Surg Orthopedic unit focuses on post-surgical and orthopedic patients, with common diagnoses including hip, knee, shoulder, and spine procedures. No drips are administered on this unit. A hospitalist is on-site 24/7, with respiratory therapy and pharmacy available around the clock.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Every other weekend required (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule)
• Holidays worked into the permanent staff rotation; holiday RTO considered but not guaranteed
• First to float: may float to telemetry or other med-surg floors

Float Requirement

Candidates must be comfortable floating to telemetry-level care. Nurses are expected to read and interpret cardiac rhythms and will complete a dysrhythmia exam prior to floating.

Orientation

One shift of floor-specific orientation provided.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of Med-Surg Orthopedic experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• BLS certification required
• Active California RN license (or eligible)
• Strong teamwork skills

Scrubs: Navy

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: October 6, 2026

Cancellation Policy: The facility may cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment (3 shifts for shorter contracts).
