Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Night Shift

Position Overview

Join the med-surg telemetry unit for a 13-week contract working nights. You'll care for a diverse patient population across medical-surgical services on a collaborative team committed to growth and positive patient outcomes.

Shift & Schedule

  • 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours)
  • Every third weekend required
  • Holiday rotation participation required
  • Float coverage across multiple campuses

Clinical Details

  • Patient population: Medical-surgical patients, all acuity levels
  • Unit focus: Telemetry monitoring with remote tech support
  • Common medications/skills: Heparin management; telemetry/cardiac monitoring
  • Scrubs: Navy blue, solid colors

Requirements

  • RN license: Active Iowa or multistate/compact license
  • Experience: Minimum 24 months med-surg or med-surg telemetry within the last 24 months
  • Travel history: Must have completed at least one prior travel contract within the previous 18 months (no first-time travelers)
  • Clinical skills: Proficiency with all med-surg patient types; recent charge or preceptor experience required
  • EMR: Electronic health record experience required
  • Certifications: Current BLS (AHA or ARC)
  • Documentation: Valid driver's license
