Med Surg Tele

Med/Surg Telemetry – Travel RN | Des Moines, IA | Nights

This 13-week contract places you on a general med/surg unit caring for a broad mix of medical and surgical patients. The unit operates with a collaborative, growth-oriented culture and is looking for experienced travel nurses who can contribute positively and adapt within a team that continues to evolve.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week (firm)
• Every third weekend required
• Holiday rotation required (1–2 holidays)
• Float requirement: must be willing to float across multiple campuses

Clinical Scope

• Diverse med/surg patient population; not specialty-specific
• Heparin drip administration
• Remote telemetry monitoring
• Charge and preceptor opportunities available

Requirements

• Minimum 24 months of Med/Surg or Med/Surg Tele experience
• At least one completed travel contract within the past 18 months (no first-time travelers)
• Recent charge or preceptor experience (required)
• Electronic medical records experience (required)
• Heparin administration experience (required)
• Telemetry/cardiac background (highly preferred)
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license required at submission
• AHA or ARC BLS certification required

Candidate must reside at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address.

Dress Code: Navy blue solid scrubs
