Med/Surg Telemetry RN — Des Moines, IA

13-Week Contract | Night Shift | 4x12 Hours

This night-shift opportunity is on a med/surg unit providing comprehensive care to a diverse patient population, including overflow post-operative orthopedic patients (hips and knees). The unit utilizes remote telemetry monitoring and includes heparin drip management.

Shift Details

• Nights, 4x12-hour shifts (48 hrs/week); 36 hrs/week may be considered based on preference
• Orientation start: 5/26 — no earlier, no later
• Every third weekend required; holidays if scheduled
• No blocked shifts
• Extension beyond the initial 13-week contract is strongly preferred

Float Requirement

Travelers on this assignment are required to float across multiple campuses within the same health system.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of current Med/Surg or Med/Surg Tele RN experience
• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license at time of submission
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Resume must reflect qualifying Med/Surg experience
• Discipline-specific skills checklist required
• First-time travelers are welcome

Preferred

• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, or nurse manager dated within the past 24 months

Additional Requirements

• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (verified by driver's license)
• Navy blue solid scrubs required
