Ambulatory Treatment Center / Infusion Center — Oncology RN
Grass Valley, CA | 13-Week Contract | Days | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
This outpatient Ambulatory Treatment Center/Infusion Center focuses on complex oncology and community infusion patients. The unit operates with 13 infusion chairs and aims to limit active concurrent infusions to maintain safe, attentive care.
Patient Population & Clinical Scope
- Oncology patients receiving complex regimens including Cisplatin, FOLFOX, and FOLFIRI
- Management of hypersensitivity reactions
- Infusion therapy including IVIG, rituximab, Remicade, Darzalex, Ocrevus, and blood transfusions
- Community patients receiving iron, albumin, hydration, bisphosphonates (Reclast/Zometa), Prolia, rabies series, and long/short-term antibiotics
- RNs are required to titrate drips
Required Qualifications
- Active California RN license
- BLS certification
- ONS chemotherapy/immunotherapy provider card
- ONS/ONCC certification
- Several years of oncology experience with recent, active chemotherapy administration
- Vascular access skills: peripheral IVs, port access, Hickman/PICC maintenance
- Strong pharmacologic knowledge and ability to interpret oncology-related lab values
Schedule & Logistics
- 8-hour day shifts; self-scheduling with balanced workload
- One weekend day per 4-week schedule
- Float requirement: inpatient units to provide inpatient chemotherapy coverage
- Guaranteed 40 hours per week
- Navy blue scrubs required
Orientation
- 2–3 days off-site, 1 day on-site with education department, 2–3 days department-specific orientation with competency completion
Cancellation Policy
Up to 4 shifts may be canceled over a 13-week assignment.
