Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Cardiac Catheterization Lab nurse for a 13-week contract. You'll work in a busy cath lab environment supporting a range of cardiac procedures, including structural heart and electrophysiology cases.
Shift & Schedule
- 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday (4x10s)
- Random day off during the week
- On-call: 1–2 nights per week + every 3rd weekend (Friday 7:30 PM – Monday 7:00 AM)
- Holiday coverage required: Must work 1–2 of 3 summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
Required Experience & Credentials
- Minimum 24 months current Cardiac Cath Lab experience
- Circulating/monitoring experience
- Trauma Level II experience
- Active Iowa license or compact/multistate
- AHA ACLS and BLS certifications
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Experience
- Structural heart procedures
- EP experience
- Travel nursing background
- Scrubbing experience
- Trauma Level I experience
Key Responsibilities
- Circulate and monitor cardiac catheterization procedures
- Float across Des Moines campuses to support like units as needed
- Precept as assigned
- Handle on-call assigned cases on rare occasion
