ICU Nurse – 18-Week Contract

Location: Birmingham, AL

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (nights)

Duration: 18 weeks

Start Date: October 5, 2026

About the Role

The facility's ICU is seeking experienced critical care nurses to provide direct, comprehensive care to high-acuity patients. You'll manage complex hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, vasoactive and sedation drips, and advanced life support equipment. This role demands quick clinical judgment, strong assessment skills, and the ability to respond rapidly to changes in patient condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor critically ill patients and escalate care as needed
• Manage ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and hemodynamic monitors
• Administer titratable medications per physician orders
• Collaborate with intensivists and interdisciplinary teams on plan of care
• Perform code and rapid response interventions
• Educate patients and families
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS and ACLS certification (required); CCRN preferred
• Minimum 1 year of ICU/critical care experience
• Travel experience in addition to 2 years' recent specialty experience required
• Hands-on experience with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and titratable drips
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
