Medical Step Down RN — Atlanta, GA

4 x 12 | Days | 16-Week Contract | Start: September 21, 2026

This Medical Step Down unit manages a broad range of intermediate-acuity medical patients, offering a clinically stimulating environment for experienced RNs comfortable with complex, multi-system cases.

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

You'll care for patients presenting with conditions including:

  • Sepsis
  • Heart failure
  • Hypertensive emergency
  • Respiratory failure and COPD
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Type 2 diabetes mellitus
  • Substance abuse
  • Status epilepticus
  • Encephalopathy

Float Expectations

Nurses in this role may be required to float to other Intermediate Care (IMCU) units within the facility.

Schedule & Hours

  • Four 12-hour day shifts per week
  • 48 guaranteed hours weekly

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a step-down or intermediate care setting
  • Active ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Current RN licensure (Georgia or compact)

This is a long-term contract opportunity spanning approximately 110 weeks, ideal for a clinician seeking extended placement in a fast-paced, medically diverse step-down environment.
