PCU / Stepdown
Medical Step-Down RN | Progressive Care | Atlanta, GA
This Medical Step-Down position places you in a fast-paced intermediate care environment managing a complex, high-acuity patient population. You'll provide skilled nursing care for patients presenting with sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy.
Assignment Details
- Shift: 4 x 12-hour days
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 16, 2026
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 per week
Clinical Scope
- Intermediate/step-down acuity with a diverse medical patient population
- Float potential to other intermediate care units within the facility
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a step-down or intermediate care setting
- Active ACLS and BLS certifications
- Georgia RN license (or compact eligibility)
Holiday Coverage
Travelers are required to work either Thanksgiving Day or the day after Thanksgiving, and one of the following pairs: Christmas Eve & Christmas Day or New Year's Eve & New Year's Day.
This is a strong long-term contract for an experienced PCU nurse comfortable managing high-acuity medical patients in a dynamic clinical environment.
