This Medical Step Down unit manages a broad range of intermediate-acuity medical patients, offering a clinically stimulating environment for experienced RNs comfortable with complex, multi-system cases.
Patient Population & Clinical Scope
You'll care for patients presenting with conditions including:
- Sepsis
- Heart failure
- Hypertensive emergency
- Respiratory failure and COPD
- Chronic kidney disease
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus
- Substance abuse
- Status epilepticus
- Encephalopathy
Float Expectations
Nurses in this role may be required to float to other Intermediate Care (IMCU) units within the facility.
Schedule & Hours
- Four 12-hour day shifts per week
- 48 guaranteed hours weekly
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a step-down or intermediate care setting
- Active ACLS and BLS certifications
- Current RN licensure (Georgia or compact)
This is a long-term contract opportunity spanning approximately 110 weeks, ideal for a clinician seeking extended placement in a fast-paced, medically diverse step-down environment.
