Infusion RN — Outpatient Oncology | Charleston, WV
Days | 5x8-Hour Shifts (08:00–16:30) | 13-Week Contract
This travel RN position is based in a busy outpatient chemotherapy and blood infusion center serving adult and geriatric patients. The unit manages a daily census of 70–80 patients across 32 treatment rooms, with a focus on safe, evidence-based oncology care.
Clinical Scope
- Administration and monitoring of chemotherapy infusions
- Blood product infusions and port access/management
- Patient population: adults and geriatrics with outpatient oncology diagnoses
- Interdisciplinary support available including pharmacy, phlebotomy, and social services
Schedule & Contract Details
- Shift: Days, 5x8 hours (08:00–16:30)
- Guaranteed hours: 40/week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Orientation held every other Thursday (approximately 16 hours)
- No on-call required; no floating required
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years RN experience
- BLS certification (AHA)
- OCN certification preferred
- WV or Compact RN license (no pending licenses)
- Skills: port access and management, chemotherapy administration and monitoring, infusion center experience
- Oncology Nurse Certification (OCN) preferred
Additional Requirements
- Permanent address must be 100+ miles from the facility (75–99 miles considered case-by-case)
- Flu vaccine required; medical exemptions accepted with physician documentation
