ICU Nurse – 13-Week Contract
The Opportunity
The facility seeks an experienced ICU nurse for day shifts in a busy critical care unit managing cardiac, neuro, med-surg, and trauma patients. This is a fast-paced environment where you'll care for acutely ill adults, geriatrics, and adolescents with complex medical needs.
Shift & Schedule
- Day shift: 3x12-hour (05:00–17:00)
- Every other weekend required
- 40-hour orientation included
- Guaranteed hours with one call-off allowed per two-week pay period
- Contract duration: 13 weeks
What You'll Do
You'll provide comprehensive critical care including:
- Arterial line and central line management
- Ventilator management and weaning
- Post-cardiac surgery care (CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR)
- Management of neuro patients (post-craniotomy, traumatic brain injury, acute stroke)
- Advanced hemodynamic monitoring (pulmonary artery lines, IABP, Impella)
- EVD and lumbar drain care
- Procedural sedation and paralytic management
- Vasoactive and cardiac drip titration
- Trauma and post-surgical intensive care
Patient ratios: 2:1 across all shifts.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience (first-timers accepted)
- Valid compact state license at submission
- ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications
- Willingness to float to nearby sister facilities (rare)
- Commitment to work 3 of 5 major holidays
