Registered Nurse
Adult Med/Surg & PCU — Night Shift | Toledo, OH | 13-Week Contract
This mixed unit serves adult patients across PCU, Med/Surg Telemetry, and Med/Surg levels of care. Travelers on this assignment should be comfortable functioning across all three levels of acuity.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 18:45–07:15 (3×12-hour shifts)
- Every other weekend required; night shift weekend coverage falls on Friday & Saturday evenings
- No block scheduling; schedules may be adjusted with two weeks' notice
Patient Population & Clinical Scope
Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, ia, GI bleeds/SBO, colorectal conditions, cystic fibrosis, and COVID. The unit also cares for post-operative bariatric, hepatobiliary, and colorectal surgery patients.
Key clinical skills include telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, insulin drip titration, TPN titration, central/PICC/peripheral line management, blood product administration, wound care/wound vac, feeding tube management, and non-invasive airway management.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of acute care experience
- Active MI license required; pending OH license accepted
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Charting experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
Float Expectations
Floating within the service line and between multiple regional facilities is an expectation for all travelers. Float units include Neuro/Stroke, Cardiac, Orthopedic, Oncology, General Surgery, Uro/Vascular, and Observation.
