Surgical Technologist – Operating Room
Position Overview
Join the operating room team as a Surgical Technologist supporting a diverse surgical service line. You'll work across multiple specialties including general, ob/gyn, plastic, ENT, ophthalmology, cardiovascular/thoracic, laparoscopic, urology, robotic, orthopedic, and neurosurgical cases. The unit also manages endoscopic procedures including bronchoscopy, colonoscopy, EGD, EBUS, EUS, enteroscopy, ERCP, and flexible sigmoidoscopy.
Schedule & Requirements
- Shift: Day, 4×10 hours (06:45–17:15)
- Contract Duration: 19 weeks
- Call: Up to 12 days per month, including every other weekend
- Float: Within facility scope of practice and to affiliated facilities as needed
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Experience: Minimum 1 year surgical experience; first-time travelers welcome
Certifications & Qualifications
- BLS and ACLS required
- NBSTSA or NCCT certification required
- Georgia or Compact RN/LPN licensure (as applicable by role)
- Strong background in instrument processing, sterilization, high-level disinfection, and scope care
Clinical Scope
You'll assist with complex procedures including spinal fusion, cardiac surgery, robotic-assisted cases, trauma, vascular repair, and specialized endoscopic interventions. Adult and geriatric patient populations.
Holiday Commitment
Major holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) may fall during your assignment; flexibility expected.
Onboarding
Full compliance required before start. Complete core items within 48 hours of contract signing.
