Neuro Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Lubbock, TX | 13-Week Contract
This neuro telemetry unit manages a diverse, high-acuity neurological and neurosurgical patient population in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. First-year travelers are welcome.
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3x12-hour shifts
- 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period
- No on-call required
- Float between units/sister facilities may be required; refusal may result in termination of assignment
Patient Population & Clinical Scope
- TIA/stroke patients within a comprehensive stroke center
- Neurosurgical patients: ACDF, TLIF, XLIF, craniotomy, subdural hematoma
- Dedicated epilepsy monitoring beds with continuous EEG observation
- Post-TPA care, intracranial bleeds, spinal cord injury, seizure disorders, substance withdrawal
- Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
Required Skills & Certifications
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience
- BLS required
- Competency in telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management, peripheral line care, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
- Neuro stepdown and neurosurgical experience strongly preferred
Licensure
- Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted under local guidelines
Dress Code
- Solid navy blue scrubs (licensed nursing staff); colored piping on tops is permitted; print tops not accepted
Additional Details
- Orientation: 12 hours
- Holiday commitment: Must work 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of submittal
- 2 professional references required (covering the past 3 years)
