Cardiovascular Step-Down RN | Portsmouth, NH | 13-Week Contract
This travel RN opportunity is on a cardiovascular and vascular surgery step-down unit (CSSU) in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. The unit manages high-acuity patients requiring close hemodynamic monitoring, vasoactive drip management, and post-procedural care in a cardiovascular and vascular surgery specialty setting.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 36 hours/week (3 shifts/week, 12 shifts/month)
- 4 weekend shifts per month
- Schedule is built around submitted time-off requests
Floating
Travelers float on a rotation basis and will float before permanent staff.
Clinical Scope
- Titration of vasoactive medications (levophed, phenylephrine, dopamine, dobutamine)
- Temporary pacing
- Pre-op preparation for cardiovascular surgery
- Chest tube and arterial line removal
- Continuous central monitoring station support
- Bedside shift report with patient board updates each shift
Required Skills & Certifications
- Strong telemetry background
- Vasoactive drip titration experience
- Chest tube experience
- ACLS and BLS
Preferred Skills
- Arterial line management
- Flo-Trac experience
- Temporary pacing experience
