Echo Sonographer – Cardiology

Position Overview

The facility's Cardiology Department is seeking a full-time Echo Sonographer to join the clinical team. You'll work in a busy outpatient and hospital setting, providing high-quality echocardiographic imaging and supporting the cardiology providers in patient diagnosis and care.

Schedule & Contract

  • Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
  • Weekend call required: 1 on, 4 off (Saturdays and Sundays, 8:00 AM start)
  • 13-week contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform all adult echocardiography modalities: transthoracic echo, stress echo, and transesophageal echo (TEE)
  • Prepare patients, explain procedures, and obtain high-quality diagnostic images
  • Assist providers with image interpretation and clinical decision-making
  • Provide patient education and act as a care advocate
  • Maintain equipment, organize exam rooms, and ensure proper record-keeping and inventory management
  • Demonstrate flexibility and strong communication in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, and support personnel

Requirements

  • Current registration as a Cardiac Sonographer (R.D.C.S. or R.C.S.) through ARDMS or CCI; registry required within 1 year if not currently certified
  • Proficiency in all adult echocardiography modalities
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
  • Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
