Echo Sonographer – Cardiology
Position Overview
The facility's Cardiology Department is seeking a full-time Echo Sonographer to join the clinical team. You'll work in a busy outpatient and hospital setting, providing high-quality echocardiographic imaging and supporting the cardiology providers in patient diagnosis and care.
Schedule & Contract
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM (40 hours/week)
- Weekend call required: 1 on, 4 off (Saturdays and Sundays, 8:00 AM start)
- 13-week contract
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all adult echocardiography modalities: transthoracic echo, stress echo, and transesophageal echo (TEE)
- Prepare patients, explain procedures, and obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Assist providers with image interpretation and clinical decision-making
- Provide patient education and act as a care advocate
- Maintain equipment, organize exam rooms, and ensure proper record-keeping and inventory management
- Demonstrate flexibility and strong communication in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, and support personnel
Requirements
- Current registration as a Cardiac Sonographer (R.D.C.S. or R.C.S.) through ARDMS or CCI; registry required within 1 year if not currently certified
- Proficiency in all adult echocardiography modalities
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
- Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
