Physician Assistant – Orthopedics

Position Overview

Join the orthopedic team at the facility to deliver comprehensive medical and surgical care to inpatient and outpatient patients. You'll work full-time with on-call coverage including nights and weekends, collaborating closely with attending physicians and multidisciplinary care teams.

What You'll Do

• Manage routine inpatient care: order diagnostic tests, labs, imaging, and medications; coordinate nutrition and adjunctive therapy
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and communicate treatment plans with physicians, nursing staff, and families
• Coordinate patient discharges with appropriate follow-up planning and patient education
• Perform bedside history and physicals as needed
• Assess and manage emergency conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings
• Function as first or second assist in the operating room, performing surgical exposure, dissections, wound closures, and application of dressings and immobilization devices
• Provide first-assist on-call coverage for the OR with rotating holiday and high-volume event responsibilities

What You Bring

• Current State of California Physician Assistant License
• BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
• DEA License
• Minimum 3 years experience in inpatient, outpatient, and surgical care
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and work ethic
• Compassion and commitment to patient-centered care

Contract Details

• Full-time, 36 guaranteed hours weekly
• 43-week assignment
• Start date: August 5, 2026
• On-call shifts including nights and weekends
• Potential clinic coverage as needed
