NICU Registered Nurse
Position Overview
The facility's NICU is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide emergency nursing services to full-term and premature infants. You'll care for critically ill neonates and infants requiring complex medical and surgical care, delivering compassionate, culturally sensitive care to patients and families.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour shifts: either 7 PM–7:30 AM or 11 PM–11:30 AM (please indicate preference)
- Every other weekend and every other holiday
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Current RN Massachusetts license
- Minimum 2 years NICU RN experience required
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- Nursing Diploma, ASN, or BSN (BSN preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide safe, efficient, and timely care to critically ill neonates
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and deliver complex clinical interventions
- Support families with culturally and spiritually sensitive care
- Manage patient lifts, transfers, and mobility needs
- Work independently and as part of the care team
- Demonstrate strong organizational and charge capabilities
Required Competencies
- Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency with clinical documentation systems
- Ability to perform mathematical computations for treatment protocols
- Fluent verbal and written communication in English
- Physical ability to lift, transfer, and move patients
