Occupational Therapist – Rehabilitation & Cardiac Services
Position Overview
The facility seeks an Occupational Therapist for its inpatient rehabilitation and cardiac services. You'll deliver direct patient care across a diverse caseload in a collaborative, supportive environment.
Shift & Schedule
- Shift: 8-hour days, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Weekends: Every other Saturday or Sunday (2 days per 4-week cycle); mid-week day off on weekend-work weeks. All-weekend schedules considered for the right candidate.
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 per week
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Orientation: 1-day hospital orientation + 2–3 days unit-specific training
Clinical Scope
Work with patients recovering from spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, stroke, cardiac events, and orthopedic conditions. You'll provide inpatient and outpatient therapy, addressing functional mobility, activities of daily living, cognition, and return-to-work goals. The facility also treats pediatric patients with lymphedema, vestibular dysfunction, and wound care (not required for travel staff).
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience; 3–5 years preferred
- Experience in ortho, neuro, and cardiac (ICU experience a plus)
- BLS Certification required
- Outpatient or home health background preferred
- Spanish-speaking candidates preferred
- First-time travelers welcome
Work Environment
- Float between inpatient rehab and acute care units
- Multidisciplinary team with charge nurse and manager available 7 days/week
- Respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and hospitalist/intensivist on-site 24/7
- Black or dark pants; burgundy dress shirt or polo
Cancellation Policy
Up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment may be cancelled.
