Stress Testing / Ambulatory Cardiology – Day Shift
Position Overview
The facility seeks a registered nurse or PA with cardiology experience to work in an ambulatory stress testing unit. You'll support exercise and pharmacological stress tests, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEEs), and moderate sedation procedures for adult and geriatric patients.
Key Details
- Shift: Day, 5×8 hours (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM), Monday–Friday
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: No floating, no call, no weekend coverage
- Patient Ratio: 1:1
- Unit Size: 4-room suite
Requirements
- Current PA or multi-state compact RN license (required at submission)
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- BSN (RN applicants)
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience
- Preferred: ICU, cardiac catheterization lab, ED, OR, or stress testing background
- First-time travelers welcome
What You'll Do
Prepare patients for and assist with stress tests (treadmill and pharmacological), obtain 12-lead EKGs, monitor vital signs and cardiac rhythm, perform venipuncture, administer medication under moderate sedation, and document care. You'll collaborate with cardiologists, sonographers, and interdisciplinary staff including interpretation services and pharmacy.
Clinical Skills
Arrhythmia interpretation, cardiac monitoring, IV infusions, medication reconciliation, pain assessment, patient education, and universal precautions.
Important Notes
Candidates must be available to complete pre-start compliance (labs within 48 hours; PA fingerprints within 1 week) with no planned time off. Block scheduling cannot be accommodated.
