Speech-Language Pathologist
The facility is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join its rehabilitation team, working with patients who have communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders in a long-term care setting.
Position Details
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour days; 7:00 AM–3:00 PM (flexible start times permitted with supervisor approval)
- Contract: 13 weeks
- No weekends or on-call requirements (holiday hours may be rescheduled to weekends if needed)
- Location: Buffalo, Missouri
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop individualized rehabilitation plans using standardized assessments and evidence-based practice
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Document all clinical findings, treatment minutes, and outcomes per regulatory standards
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers
- Collaborate with the healthcare team on patient care, attending conferences and meetings as required
- Prepare discharge summaries and maintain accurate clinical records
- Support and supervise Clinical Fellows or student SLPs as needed
- Maintain adherence to ASHA and Missouri state practice standards and ethics
Required Qualifications
- Missouri State License (active)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
- Minimum 1 year of SLP experience (new graduates with Level II clinical experience considered)
- Long-term care or skilled nursing facility experience
- Current reference available upon request
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years holding active CCS certification
