Speech-Language Pathologist – Long-Term Care
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to evaluate and treat patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in a long-term care setting. You'll develop individualized rehabilitation plans using standardized assessments and evidence-based practices, then monitor progress and adjust treatments as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and create tailored treatment plans per regulatory and clinical standards
- Provide direct patient care addressing communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
- Document all services in the electronic health record and maintain accurate treatment records
- Consult with patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members on progress and recommendations
- Participate in patient care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehabilitation meetings
- Prepare discharge summaries outlining services and outcomes
- Support Clinical Fellows or student Speech-Language Pathologists as needed
- Maintain adherence to ASHA and Missouri state practice standards and ethics
Schedule & Details
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday (8-hour days)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Weekends: No weekend work required (holidays falling within M–F can be made up on weekends)
- Start Date: October 5, 2026
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year Speech-Language Pathology experience (new graduates welcome with Level II experience)
- Long-term care or skilled nursing facility experience
- Current Missouri State License
- CCC certification
- 3+ years active CCS preferred
