Position: Telemetry Nurse – Float
Shift & Schedule
12-hour shifts, PM and Nights, every-other weekend and every-other holiday. Most Fridays will be required. Contract duration: 13 weeks.
About the Role
You'll float across five Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units in an acute care setting, providing care to patients requiring continuous cardiac monitoring and telemetry management. This is a fast-paced environment where adaptability and independent clinical judgment are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret telemetry strips independently
- Manage IV therapy and acute care nursing duties
- Quickly adapt to different unit protocols and patient populations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a dynamic setting
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of recent acute care nursing experience
- Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and IV management
- Ability to independently read and interpret telemetry strips
- Certification: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Must pass an on-site competency exam on Day 1 (84% or better; two attempts allowed)
Preferred Qualifications
- 3–5 years of float nursing experience
- Demonstrated adaptability across multiple clinical units

This role requires flexibility and a willingness to work in a varied clinical environment. No extended orientation; you'll need to hit the ground running.
