PACU Nurse – Cardiac Recovery
Position Overview
Join the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) as a Registered Nurse specializing in cardiac recovery. You'll manage patients across Phase 1 and Phase 2recovery, including moderate sedation protocols, caring for diverse cardiac and vascular populations in a fast-paced, specialized environment.
Clinical Scope
You'll provide post-operative and post-procedure care for patients recovering from:
- Cardiac catheterizations (diagnostic and interventional)
- Electrophysiology procedures (pacemakers, ablations, EP studies)
- Structural heart interventions (TAVRs, LAAOs, mitral clips, PFO closures)
- Vascular procedures (carotid endarterectomies, carotid stents, bypasses, AAA repairs, angiograms)
- Thoracic cases (hiatal hernia repairs, lung resections, mediastinoscopies)
- Cardiac surgery (CABGs, valve procedures, LVADs)
- General anesthesia recoveries and sedation cases
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year PACU experience (cardiac experience preferred)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- RN license
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour shifts, three per week
- Must include one 0800–2030 shift weekly
- Available shift times: 0500–1730, 0600–1830, 0700–1930, 0800–2030
- Rotating on-call required (weekends, holidays; 0600–1830 hours, 1-hour response time)
- No floating to other units
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
Contract Details
- 13-week assignment
- 1-week orientation provided
- Scrubs provided (ceil blue)
- Up to 2 shift cancellations permitted
