Registered Nurse – Intermediate Medical/Surgical Care
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Contract: 13 weeks | Location: San Marcos, TX
About the Role
The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Intermediate Medical/Surgical unit. You'll provide routine and complex nursing care to assigned patients, working independently while developing your ability to manage clinical contingencies and support interdisciplinary care teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications and treatments; monitor effectiveness and side effects
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Assess patient and family learning needs; provide appropriate education and identify resources
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to enhance patient care delivery
Required Qualifications
- RN License in Texas or compact state
- BLS certification (AHA)
- ACLS certification (AHA)
- 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty (preferred)
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (preferred)
What to Expect
New hires complete orientation within the first 30 days, including preceptor-guided onboarding and competency validation. You'll be expected to maintain all annual competency verification requirements.
