Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN — Emergency Department Boarder Unit
Burlington, MA | 13-Week Contract | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
This position supports a high-volume emergency department managing Med-Surg Telemetry boarding patients who are awaiting inpatient bed placement. The unit sees an average of 40 boarded patients daily, with staffing ratios typically at 5:1.
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 72 guaranteed hours biweekly (excludes any on-call time worked)
- Orientation is weekly; any color scrubs accepted
- Minimal time off will be considered; all requested time off must be disclosed at submission
Required Qualifications
- Active Massachusetts RN license
- BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications
- Demonstrated experience caring for boarded patients in an ED setting — please highlight this clearly on your resume
- Telemetry testing required on Day 1; practice tests completed during onboarding with a passing requirement within 2 attempts
Additional Requirements
- Must be located more than 50 miles from the facility (non-local candidates only)
- Candidates must have been separated from this health system for a minimum of 6 months and be in good standing to be considered
- Float not required
